History of Love - Mode lecture

I went to a bookstore to buy a book for my sister and I took this one for myself. I don't know if it will be good tho...

The History of Love
by Nicole Krauss

The Barnes & Noble Review from Discover Great New Writers
"Once upon a time a man who had become invisible arrived in America." An unlikely and unforgettable hero, Leo Gursky is a survivor -of war, of love, and of loneliness. A retired locksmith, Leo does his best to get by. He measures the passage of days by the nightly arrival of the delivery boy from the Chinese restaurant and has arranged a code with his upstairs neighbor: Three taps on the radiator means, "ARE YOU ALIVE?, two means YES, one NO." But it wasn't always so. Sixty years earlier, before he fled Poland for New York, Leo met a girl named Alma and fell in love. He wrote a book and named the character in it after his beloved. Years passed, lives changed, and unbeknownst to Leo, the book survived. And it provides Leo -in the eighth decade of his life -with a link to the son he's never known.

How this long-lost book makes an extraordinary reappearance and connects the lives of disparate characters is only one of the small miracles The History of Love offers its readers. Rich, inventive, and continually surprising, this is a novel about lost love, found love, and rediscovered love; it is about where we find love when it seems all too elusive and what happens when we do. In short, it is a triumph. (Summer 2005 Selection)

Live from Singapore!

Hi!
Again, a short post. Internet is hard to get when you are travelling like crazy. But it's cool, it keeps me away from all the electronic machine. It's like a kind of an electronic rehab, haha.
So, since last time in Seoul, we went to Singapore but just for one day before going to Tioman in Malaysia. 4 days of doing nothing (except Snorkeling and Sunbathing). It was cool.
And I came back to Singapore 2 days ago.
OlivT has just left to the airport to go back to Taipei. It's weird, coz we dunno when we will meet again. It's the beginning of the end of AT2007.
In 2 days, another chapter of my holidays will begin. It will be a totally different part, maybe even more exciting for me. I'll write more when I'll get there as I don't want to spoil too much.

Until then everybody take care!

Live from HK!

Hey what's up?
I am writing this post from HK International Airport!
I have just arrived and I am going to take the plane in lest than 1 hour to Taipei.
So far, I am liking it so much. Hearing Cantonese everywhere is so awesome! I haven't gone out of the airport and it's already that cool!

It's like I am in a TVB drama haha. I am loving it (padadadada, McDonald's style).

Asia Tour, Prets, Feu, Partez!

Today (July 17th 2007), it's the start of the Asia Tour for me! I'll join my long time friends in Asia: OlivT and AlexTheKid; OlivS is already there, he went there from London. Othmane is also there with OlivS.
Taipei is the 1st destination, too bad for me, I won't be staying there that long and probably won't have much time to visit.
But it's not important, the best part is to get back together with my friends! Guys, I am comming!
Next step is Seoul (South Korea) on July 20th!

I hate packing, don't know if I have forgotten something, don't know if I have taken enough clothes...
Well, I'll get out from home at 11am. My flight to HK is at 3.45pm. I think I'll take the subway. I am crossing finger to be on time... People that know me, know that I am not lucky when it comes to catch a plane... Then more than 15 hours later, I'll land on the ground of Hong Kong, but not for long as I'll take another plane direction Taipei! I am supposed to get there at 10.50pm (July 18th). It's a +20 hours travel trip, I hope I'll be able to cope with it (don't know if iPod and Nintendo DS will last that long...).

Anyway, I am not sure if I'll be able to write on my blog, but too all, I wish you have a wonderful summer!

I have lost all my data T_T

Yesterday night, I tried to reinstall my computer with the HP Recovery DVD.
I had experienced some slow down on the system, that's why I wanted to reinstall Windows XP.
It was a enormeous mistake... Because it has completly erased all my personal data/files! I wanna cry so badly.
Beside the musics and videos, that are not that important, I have lost all my pictures, photos, word documents (resume, cover letters, etc)... It's like having lost a part of myself.
Well, you can say it's well done for me, cause I should have made backups...
I have learnt my lesson...
